What is the weather like in Laos

Like Vietnam, Laos has a tropical climate that is impacted by the monsoon season. There are notable variations in weather patterns and the ideal times to travel, though. Northern Laos, Central Laos, and Southern Laos are the three divisions of Laos.

I/ Northern Laos (Luang Prabang, Phongsaly, Luang Namtha):

In contrast to other parts of Laos, the north has a colder subtropical highland climate. The dry season typically lasts from November to April in this area, with temperatures between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). The rainy season, which lasts from May to October, is marked by more rainfall and higher humidity. The best time to visit Northern Laos is frequently between November and February when the climate is colder and drier.

II/ Central Laos (Vientiane, Vang Vieng):

The climate in central Laos is tropical savanna. The dry season typically lasts from November to April in this area, with temperatures between 20°C and 35°C (68°F and 95°F). From May to October, the rainy season provides warmer temperatures, more humidity, and sporadic torrential downpours. Similar to Northern Laos, Central Laos is typically regarded as having the best travel seasons from November to February.

III/ Southern Laos (Pakse, Si Phan Don):

The climate in southern Laos is tropical wet and dry. November through April mark the dry season in this area, when highs range from 25°C to 35°C (77°F to 95°F). The higher temperatures, significant rainfall, and increased humidity of the rainy season, which lasts from May to October, are characteristics. Due to more comfortable temperatures and lower rainfall, the dry season is frequently favoured for tourism in Southern Laos.
